Hyundai’s first AMT will be introduced through the new Santro launching on October 23, 2018.

Hyundai’s first AMT has been spied naked in the latest spyshots revealing the interior of the 2018 Hyundai Santro. The first ever AMT of Hyundai will debut in the new Santro that is scheduled to launch in India on October 23, 2018. This 5-speed AMT gearbox is the latest entrant in Hyundai’s component portfolio and it is likely to make way in the other models like new Grand i10 and Xcent as well.

Hyundai promised the Indian market that all its cars in the country will come with dual-pedal technology by 2020. The AMT will certainly help the brand to keep its promise to the buyers without hurting the price of the cars and fuel efficiency as well. With this, Hyundai will be the latest brand to enter the community of carmakers that currently offer AMT. These are Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Renault.

Speaking about the new Hyundai Santro, it will be an exciting reigniting the appeal of the iconic car that ruled the heart of millions of Indians. The new Santro will be equipped with LED daytime running lights, large touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, dual airbags, ABS with EBD etc.

On the powertrain front, the new Hyundai Santro will get energy from a 1.1-litre Epsilon petrol engine. The engine is expected to offer generous power, torque and mileage paired with the AMT gearbox. Also, there will be a 5-speed manual transmission as well. Expect the car to be priced very aggressively to lure buyers.
