The 2+2+2 seating arrangement is what XL6 all about. The middle row now has two luxurious captain seats which are designed to provide the next level of comfort to the users. XL6 doesn’t shy from offering all the bells and whistles you can expect from a car in this segment.

Maruti Suzuki XL6 will be sold only through the NEXA premium dealerships

XL6 is powered by Ciaz sourced 1.5-liter petrol engine. This powerplant is an in-line 4 cylinder, 1462cc with 16-valve head. The engine generates 103bhp power at 6000rpm and 138Nm torque at 4400rpm. This new engine is now BS6 emission norms compliant so that customers can have peace of mind for the future as XL6 will not lose its resale value anytime soon.

It is interesting to note that Maruti Suzuki XL6 has been given the boon of Suzuki’s mild hybrid system. There is an electric motor which aids in engine start/stop, brake energy recuperation and most importantly torque assist function. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Speaking about the design, the XL6 sport a new radical front fascia which resembles that of an SUV. The rear, however, reminds us of Ertiga. To make the grille stand out of the crowd, Maruti engineers have added two chrome strips on the hexagonal design. Headlights are the main design feature which makes XL6 look unique. Lighting all around the car is LED units. Body cladding is not subtle and gives XL6 a bold look of an SUV with faux skid plates and blacked-out alloys add to the aggression.

The interior of XL6 is completely black with the design being quite similar to that of Ertiga. Dashboard, with its glossy black panels, looks more upmarket than what we can see in its younger sibling. You will get a new infotainment system supporting Android Auto and apple carplay.

It gets two large analog dials with a full-color TFT Multi-Information Display in between which will give you all the information about the drive including average speed, fuel consumption, trip meters, distance to empty and much more. The automatic variant gets Electronic Stability Program and Hill hold assist in addition to the ABS and EBD set up in the manual variant.

Maruti Suzuki XL6 Rivals

Mahindra Marazzo is the main rival for the Maruti Suzuki XL6 in the Indian car market. Marazzo is the only MPV which has 3-row seating arrangement with the captain seats in this price tag. Still, Marazzo starts from Rs 10.35 lakh ex-showroom. However, one must note that Mahinda is available with Diesel engine option only.

Toyota Innova, on the other hand, has a starting price of Rs 14.83 lakh ex-showroom which becomes an overkill for customers who are looking for an affordable premium MPV. Therefore XL6 is here to fill this gap.
