The best selling point for new Grand i10 NIOS will be its radical design which follows the latest Hyundai design methodology. This new design makes Grand i10 look more like Santro and gets headlamps inspired by the Verna. Interiors of NIOS looks beautifully done with both dashboard and upholstery available in very light colors.

Commenting on the unveiling, SS Kim, MD & CEO- Hyundai Motor India Ltd said. “Hyundai Motor India has created benchmarks in the Indian automobile industry by introducing Cutting-edge technologies and Best-in-segment world-class products for the past 21 years. We are glad to present the All-New 3rd Generation GRAND i10 NIOS, that blends the intrinsic and intuitive beauty of the car with unique design sense constantly changing and fulfilling our customers’ expectations. With the New GRAND i10 NIOS, we have created a new paradigm ensuring to maximize our customers’ emotional values in the perfect harmony with the four elements of Hyundai Design Identity: ‘Sensuous Sportiness’, such as Proportion, Architecture, Styling, and Technology.”

The main reason for new model to sell alongside the old grand i10 is the overstocking of the dealer inventory levels. We expect the company to discontinue the old model once the stock is cleared. The company might launch the new car with BS6 complained engine.

He further said. “GRAND i10 NIOS is the 3rd Generation of the legendary brand ‘i10’ and will co-exist with GRAND i10 which will further expand Hyundai portfolio and cater to a much wider segment of customers from Urban, Semi-urban and rural markets.”

As of now, there are no details about the powerplants but we expect the Grand i10 NIOS will retain same 83bhp 1.2-liter petrol engine and 74bhp 1.2-liter diesel engine. The pricing, however, is expected to rise to about Rs 5.5 lakh ex-showroom for the base variant. At present, the Grand i10 starts from Rs 5 lakh ex-showroom.
