Is this the new Ford Freestyle facelift? I wish

Ford Freestyle XUV300 cross AutoIndica

This Ford Freestyle with Mahindra XUV300 inspired front fascia could be an interesting proposition

Ford Freestyle is one of the most interesting cars in India from the American auto major. Now, the Ford Figo-based crossover is due for a facelift. With Ford and Mahindra entered a joint venture, we wish to see the crossover in a new light. In our latest render, we have imagined how the Freestyle facelift could look like.

The render shows this Ford Freestyle facelift dons a new face with entire headlamp cluster completely redesigned. To give it a fresh new and appealing look, we thought why not use Mahindra XUV300’s headlamp and front grille. Well, it actually looks good on the Ford Figo based crossover. The bumpers could remain the same as the current model. Moving to the side profile, the car could boast new design alloys and subtle changes as well, while rear would sport similar appearance.

Inside the cabin, Ford Freestyle facelift will come with a revised appearance with a new dashboard, a bigger touchscreen infotainment system may be. Seats and upholstery materials will come with an upmarket look and feel for sure. However, changes in dimension are unlikely.

Power source for the Ford model would be the same as the outgoing model. In that case, the current model’s 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel motors will continue in the new version as well. However, we might see Ford introducing Mahindra’s micro-hybrid technology available in several models from the latter brand. In that case, the fuel efficiency of the Freestyle facelift will go higher than now.

Currently, this Ford crossover is available with a manual gearbox only. But, an automatic gearbox will ensure more appeal and comfortable driving experience. In that case, we can see an automatic unit being introduced to the car. As both the brands joined hands to work on electric vehicles, we can see an electric variant of the crossover as well.
