2019 Honda Civic’s launch marks return of the sedan in India, priced at Rs 17.69 lakh

The all-new Honda Civic has been one of the much-awaited cars in India for the last couple of months. The tenth generation avatar of Honda Civic sedan is finally here. Pre-booking for the 2019 Honda Civic was already open for the last couple of days at Rs 31,000 and now the brand has announced its pricing ranging between Rs 17.69 lakh – 22.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Honda had to discontinue the Civic in India previously in India due to its lacklustre sales. Now, with the customer preference and market scenario changed in the recent past, Honda decided to bring it back. The 2019 Honda Civic sits in the C segment sedan category and it is the most expensive one in its place. This sedan is loaded with completely new and sculpted design and features.

2019 Honda Civic

Speaking about the features, 2019 Honda Civic boasts LED headlamps, C-shaped LED taillights and 16-inch alloy wheels at exterior. Top trims get 17-inch alloys. Inside the cabin, it gets remote ignition start, electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control, 8-way adjustable power driver seat etc. A large 7-inch driver information display and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system add zing to the cabin. The sedan gets an array of safety features that include six-airbags, Lane Watch system, HSA, stability control and Agile Handling Assist besides ABS and EBD.

On the powertrain front, the 2019 Honda Civic comes with 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol and a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. The petrol motor is compliant with the upcoming BS-VI emission norms.t kicks out 138 bhp of power at 6,500 rpm and 174 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm. A CVT does transmission duty in this model. The diesel unit pumps out 118 bhp of power at 4,000 rpm and 300 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. It gets a 6-speed manual gearbox. The petrol engine is capable of returning 16.5kmpl of mileage, while the diesel unit offers 26.8kmpl.
