Jaguar XE facelift brings both BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines

British luxury car manufacturer Jaguar has launched its first BS6 compliant car in India. The Jaguar XE facelift is the one with both petrol and diesel engines being BS6 compliant. Jaguar XE S is priced at Rs 44.98 lakh while the top SE variant will set you back by Rs 46.32 lakh. Prices mentioned here are ex-showroom, Delhi.

A lot of changes are done to the exterior and interior of the Jaguar XE facelift which was launched in the international market earlier this year. There are a total of four variants to choose from.

Jaguar XE Petrol

XE P250 S – Rs 44.98 lakh

XE P250 SE – Rs 46.32 lakh

Jaguar XE Diesel

XE P180 S – Rs 44.98 lakh

XE P180 SE – Rs 46.32 lakh

Speaking about the changes, the new XE design is inspired by the F-type sports car from the company’s lineup. The LED headlight design is tweaked a bit to look more aggressive and the bumper gets a sharper rework. At the rear, bumper, diffuser and the LED taillights are touched up for a fresher look and feel.

The top SE variant of the car gets a fully digital instrument cluster as well as a larger touchscreen infotainment system. Interior plastics has been changed to the softer touch from the previously hard one for a luxurious feel. The previous model had a rotary gear knob which is now replaced with a gear lever.

Coming to the powertrain, the petrol motor is a turbocharged 2.0-litre unit which pumps out 250bhp and 365Nm of twisting force. Diesel, on the other hand, is also a 2-litre unit with 180bhp and 430Nm torque. Both the engines are now BS6 compliant and are futureproof. Yup, all this power turns the rear wheels connected through an 8-speed torque-converter driven automatic transmission.

The XE is the only launch from the British manufacturer in India in 2019 but company has big plans for India for the year 2020 as they are gearing up to launch new Defender as well as all-electric Jaguar I-Pace SUV among other cars.
