Datsun RediGo now comes in 5 variants, three 0.8 liter and 2 are equipped with a more powerful 1.0-liter engine
The Japanese car manufacturer Datsun has launched an updated version of their most affordable car Datsun RediGo in the Indian market. New Datsun RediGo complies with the latest regulations of car safety. The Company also discontinued two variants and now just five variants are on sale.
The price of base 800cc variant is Rs 2.79 lakh and the top variant with 1.0-liter engine and AMT gearbox is priced at Rs 4.37 lakh ex-showroom. New pricing saw a small hike on the base and mid variants while the hike is negligible on the top-end variants.
The Datsun RediGo received driver airbag, rear parking sensor, high-speed warning, and a seatbelt reminder. Further, the ABS and EBD were added into the car last year in November 2018. The high-speed warning will beep once in minuter while driving above 80 kmph. The warning system will continue to beep once the speed is past the 120 kmph mark. However, the beeping will stop as the speed falls below 120 kmph and 80 kmph respectively.
Powering the car are two different capacity engines. The three variants D, A, and S are powered by 800cc three-cylinder engine while the 1-liter engine comes in two variants – S and S AMT. The smaller engine makes 53bhp and 72Nm torque and its bigger brother makes 66bhp and 91Nm twisting force. Gearbox is a 5-speed unit on all the variants.
Speaking about the fuel economy, the 800cc engine is claimed to deliver 22.7 kmpl and 1000cc will return slightly less 22.5 kmpl. These numbers are tested by ARAI.
The new RediGo comes in five cool color options – Ruby Red, White, Grey, Silver, and Lime Green. Not only that, but Datsun also gives unmatched 2-year unlimited kilometer warranty on the new Datsun RediGo.
Hardeep Singh Brar, director of sales and commercial at Nissan India said. “At Datsun, we are committed to delight the customer and enhance the customer experience. Our popular model, Datsun Redi-GO now comes with various added safety features as standard which is yet another testimony of our focus to bring in progressive mobility backed by safety, technology, style, and convenience.”
