The new-gen Maruti WagonR is available at a pricing range of Rs 4.19 lakh – Rs 5.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). On the other hand, the new generation Hyundai Santro comes priced between Rs 3.90 lakh and Rs 5.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Both the Maruti WagonR and Hyundai Santro are priced very aggressively against each other. The pricing difference between both these cars is too close. However, Hyundai Santro base model is a bit cheaper than the WagonR.

The big changes for both new Maruti WagonR and the new Hyundai Santro are the features. Both these two small cars come with new features compared to their respective predecessors. The new Maruti WagonR boasts a touchscreen infotainment system that gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also, the revised instrument cluster with digital MID, updated seat and upholstery materials add zing to the cabin.

The new Hyundai Santro too boasts a completely refreshed and appealing theme inside the cabin. It gets an upmarket touchscreen infotainment system. Maruti WagonR vs Hyundai Santro: Practically powerful

Maruti WagonR is available with a 1.0-litre and a 1.2-litre petrol unit. Alongside petrol, there is CNG offering as well. The 1.0-litre K10B petrol engine churns out 67 bhp of peak power at 5,500 rpm and 90 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm. The slightly bigger 1.2-litre K12M petrol engine pumps out 82 bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm at 4,200 rpm. These two engines are available with transmission options of a 5-speed manual gearbox and AGS.

The Hyundai Santro is powered by a 1.1-litre petrol engine. However, there is a CNG variant of this car as well. The 1.1-litre four-cylinder petrol engine kicks out 68 bhp of peak power at 5,500 rpm and 99 Nm of peak torque at 4,500 rpm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT. Interestingly, this new Santro is the first car of the brand to have an AMT.
