Maruti Baleno RS is priced from Rs 8.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), competes with Tata Tiago JTP, Volkswagen Polo GT TSI
Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift was launched just a few days ago. Since then, the new Maruti Baleno RS’s arrival was being anticipated. Now, the automaker has announced pricing of the Maruti Baleno RS. The performance focused version of the premium hatchback is available from Rs 8.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Like its predecessor, the new Maruti Baleno RS will be sold through Nexa retail network.
New Baleno RS comes retaining the identical silhouette as the outgoing model. However, there are some distinctive changes across the inside out. At the exterior, front fascia has received significant updates. These include a revised front grille with more fluid looking chrome trim connecting perfectly with the updated headlamps. LED projector headlamps, slightly updated LED daytime running lights, a completely redesigned front bumper is there.
Thanks to the bigger faux air dams and updated central air intake, the new Maruti Baleno RS looks bolder than before. It gets new design alloy wheels, refreshed rear bumper. The taillights too have gone through changes. The new Baleno RS cabin sports an all-black theme inside the cabin compared to standard Maruti Suzuki Baleno’s black-blue theme. The touchscreen infotainment system has been updated. For safety, it boasts dual airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors as standard.
Maruti Baleno RS will compete with rivals like Volkswagen Polo GT TSI and Tata Tiago JTP. Speaking about its power source, the new Baleno RS gets a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine. Coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox, this engine kicks out 102 bhp of power output. All the four wheels get disc brakes for stopping energy.
Since, Tata Motors has launched the Tiago JTP, an update for the Maruti Suzuki hot hatch was much needed. Now, with the new Baleno RS, it is expected to see a greater sales number. While this car doesn’t come with major changes, the subtle yet significant updates are pretty welcome.
