2020 Force Gurkha will get a new body and Gurkha Xtreme’s underpinning, new powerful BS6 engine on card
Force Gurkha has never been able to grab a strong sales number despite being a well capable tough off-roader. However, the homegrown automobile brand never has given up on this SUV. Now, the automaker is ready to roll out the new generation Gurkha. Scheduled to launch in 2020, the new Force Gurkha will come with new design, new engine and more power. Expect the new Force Gurkha to be priced competitively against its biggest rival Mahindra Thar.
The new-gen Gurkha comes with a completely new body that will be more muscular. It could get new headlamps, LED daytime running lights, new taillights as well. Also, it will don a new design luring the customers. It will be underpinned by the same platform as Gurkha Xtreme. This model will comply with the upcoming crash test norms and it will target the Mahindra Thar, which is set to receive a new generation model.

Expect the new generation Force SUV to showcase and launch at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. Apart from the design and sheet metal changes, it is expected to receive a host of changes inside the cabin. New and stylish features are likely to be available there, while the comfort level will certainly go up.
Expect a major change on the powertrain front. New Gurkha could come with a new 2.2-litre diesel engine sourced from Mercedes-Benz. This engine will churn out around 138 bhp of peak power and a significant amount of torque output as well. The current model is powered by a bigger but less powerful 2.5-litre diesel motor that kicks out 84 bhp of power
This engine will comply with new BS6 emission norms set to kick in from April 2020. Among other mechanical changes, a new multi-link suspension setup, low range transfer case and other off-roading focused technologies will be there.
