MG Hector looks similar to Chevrolet Captiva

MG Hector clocked 26% increase in sales for the month of October 2019 against September

MG sold 2608 units of Hector SUV in India in September. However, in October this number increased by 26% and the total sales of the MG Hector stood at 3536 units. Much cannot be said about the sales in October itself as Hector already got more than 30,000 bookings by the month of August. All efforts are made from the side of the company for increased production of the now popular SUV.

MG halted the bookings a couple of months back due to overwhelming response. The bookings were reopened by the end of September along with a price hike of up to Rs 40,000. Hector once again got about 8000 bookings and now total booking number stands at 38,000 units. Due to low production capacity and high demand, the waiting period of the Hector is up to 7-8 months depending upon the city.

The company will increase the production of Hector at its Halol plant from the month of November 2019. We can see even higher sales number of the British brand from November onwards. Expect deliveries of more than 4500 units from this month. This will help the brand to satisfy customer demand and permanently open the bookings for Hector.

MG Hector is christened as the Internet Car for the SUV comes with 4G connectivity along with various internet-related features. The SUV comes with two engine options – 1.5-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel. A 1.5-litre petrol engine is a turbocharged unit which pumps out 143 bhp and 250Nm torque. The 2.0-litre diesel engine, on the other hand, puts out 168bhp and 350Nm torque.

MG Hector feels the heat from the Kia Seltos, Mahindra XUV500, Tata Harrier as well as the Hyundai Creta.
