After the corporate variant, Skoda Kodiaq Scout launched for Rs 33.99 lakh

Skoda Kodiaq Scout launched in India starting from Rs 33.99 lakh. Top of the line luxurious variant Laurin & Klement is priced at Rs 36.78 lakh ex-showroom. The base corporate variant is priced at Rs 32.99 lakh which was launched last week.

Skoda Kodiaq Scout has some different design elements which will make it look different from the regular SUV. The silver metallic inserts with black cladding in the lower part of both front and the rear bumper add to the style of the car. The alloy wheels are dual-toned finished and 18-inch in diameter. There are a ‘Scout’ Badges on the front fenders, tailgate. The eye-catching silver elements are featured on the ORVM covers, lower bumper as well as roof rails.

Speaking about the color options, the new Skoda Kodiaq Scout is available in 4 color options – Lava Blue, Quartz Grey, Moon White, and Magic Black.

The best part of the Kodiaq Scout is its engine. It is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine that powers the other Kodiaq variants as well as does duty on the Audi Q3 SUV too. This powerplant pumps out 148bhp of diesel power along with 340 Nm of twisting force. Power is transferred to all the four wheels via a 7-speed DSG autobox.

Skoda Kodiaq Scout gets more upmarket Alcantara leather upholstery while, on the other hand, dashboard luxurious wood inserts with ‘Scout’ inscriptions. These features make is distinguishing from the other variants. The interesting part is that the Scout shares some of the interior features from the top-spec L&K variant such as 9-airbags, 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is compatible with both Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The sound system is a massive 10-speaker 575 Watt Canton unit. The driver seat is 12-way electrically adjustable, ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, radar-based hands-free parking system, and a panoramic sunroof.

What Scout edition miss from the L&K variant is the fully-digital virtual cockpit and a 360-degree camera. In addition to the above features, the Kodiaq Scout gets Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and off-road mode as a bonus over the L&K variant. Boot space is just 270 liters with all the 3-rows up and it increases to whooping 2008 liters with 2nd and 3rd row folded.

The key rivals to the new Kodiaq Scout are Honda CR-V diesel which is priced from Rs 30.67 to 32.77 lakh. Volkswagen Tiguan, on the other hand, will set you back by Rs 28.14 lakh to 31.53 lakh. There are other full-size SUVs in the segment primarily from the house of Toyota and Ford.
