2018 Honda CR-V India launch will mark the SUV’s first-ever seven-seater appearance alongside refreshed design.
2018 Honda CR-V India launch has been confirmed for October 9 after a long wait, since the brand showcased the fifth generation model of the SUV at 2018 Delhi Auto Expo in February. This is the first time, Honda CR-V will come with a seven-seater layout. Apart from that, the SUV will also come with refreshed design and features adding more premiumness to the car.
Speaking about its design, the 2018 Honda CR-V comes in line with the contemporary global Honda models like the tenth generation Civic sedan. This SUV sports sleek full LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, heavily chrome garnished sculpted front grille and a muscular front bumper with sleek horizontally positioned LED fog lamps. The hexagonal mesh at lower air intake, thick skid plate and black body cladding add zing to the SUV. Its large alloy wheels, sharp LED fog lamps give a perfect stylish touch to the car.
Inside the cabin, 2018 Honda CR-V boasts a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system at centre console with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The revised dashboard layout, new steering wheel, analog and digital display at instrument cluster, high quality premium seat and upholstery material, three row seats are the elements that not only emphasise on style, but practicality of a car that comes priced at around Rs 28 lakh (ex-showroom).
Speaking about the 2018 Honda CR-V’s powertrain, it is likely to receive a 1.6-litre turbocharged diesel engine that would churn out around 118 bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque. This certainly makes the car bit underpowered considering its segment. Transmission duty will be done by a 9-speed automatic gearbox with paddleshifters. For petrol version, there will be a 2.0-litre engine coupled with a CVT. This motor is capable of kicking out 152 bhp of power and 189 Nm of torque.
