MG Motors’ first car in India Hector has already garnered pretty good attention. The MG Hector SUV has been finally unveiled for the public at an event. The SUV is ready for official launch when the brand will announce its pricing. Pricing will be announced sometime in early June 2019 and deliveries will commence within a couple of weeks.

MG Hector SUV will arrive with connected car technology. It will be able to perform several tasks remotely with the touch from the owner’s smartphone. Expect a lot of these functions to be India-specific. MG Motors has already tied up with several companies. Airtel will provide a 5G e-SIM card that will be integrated into the car’s system. The SIM card will connect the Hector SUV’s system with the owner’s smartphone.

MG Hector looks similar to Chevrolet Captiva

The MG Hector SUV will come loaded with a host of features that will include an 8-colour ambient lighting system inside the cabin. There will be dual-pane panoramic sunroof and a 7-inch digital coloured MID. There will be upmarket quality seat and upholstery materials. MG Hector SUV will ensure an ample amount of space and comfort.

For the powertrain, MG Hector will come with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and there will be a 2.0-litre diesel turbocharged engine as well. The petrol engine will churn out 141 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the diesel motor will kick out 168 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque. Dual clutch automatic transmission will be there besides a standard manual gearbox. The petrol engine will be combined with a 48V electric battery in the hybrid variant.

The design of the Hector SUV will reflect a masculine and bold look combined with LED lamps, daytime running lights etc. The car will get a host of safety features ensuring a high-level safety for the occupants.
