MG Hector vs rivals – Specification

MG Hector will be available in both petrol and diesel options. The petrol model will get energy from a 1.5-litre unit, while the diesel variant will get a 2.0-litre unit under the hood. Mahindra XUV500 on the other hand is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine is a 2.2-litre unit mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, while the diesel motor is a 2.2-litre fuel burner that is available with both manual and automatic gearbox options.

Tata Harrier has been launched in India with a diesel engine only. No petrol motor is there. The SUV comes with a manual gearbox. This 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel motor is capable of kicking out 138 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission is there mated to the engine.

A 1.4-litre petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine are there as powertrain options for the Jeep Compass SUV. The Jeep Compass comes available in both manual and automatic gearbox options. Interestingly, the car comes with 4×4 drivetrain enabling it for hardcore off-roading.
