Hyundai Santro gets benefits up to Rs 70,000 before the festive season

Owing to the slowdown in the sales, Hyundai dealerships are now offering the Santro with benefits up to Rs 70,000. The company is trying hard to increase sales volume even in the dire situation of the slowdown in the economy. Hyundai Santro starts from Rs 4.20 lakh while the top of the line Santro CNG is priced at Rs 5.73 lakh ex-showroom.

The Santro comes with 3-year/1 lakh km standard warranty and roadside assistant. Now in the new offer, you can buy entry-level Hyundai with one extra year extended warranty as well as roadside assistance.

This comes after WagonR which is Santro’s chief rival, is selling more than double of what Hyundai car is capable of. During the April-August 2019, only 24,500 units of Santro sold whereas the new WangonR crossed 62,000 unit sales in the same period. Other than this Renault Kwid also shows come competition to the Santro with its larger 1.0-liter engine option.

On the other hand, the company is offering discounts on its now old generation Grand i10, this is making people overlook Santro. At present, Grand i10 is getting total benefits of up to Rs 1 lakh thus bringing its effective price near to that of Santro’s thus Hyundai is now offering benefits with Santro to keep the sales momentum going for both the models. This will help is reducing the sales cannibalization in the entry-level lineup.

In the Indian market, Hyundai Santro rivals the likes of Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Datsun Go, Tata Tiago, Renault Kwid 1.0. It is powered by a 1.1-liter petrol engine which develops 68bhp and 99Nm twisting force. In the CNG version, power output falls down to 58bhp and torque is rated at 84Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed unit or a 5-speed AMT.
