Carlino concept based Hyundai QXi sub-4 metre SUV has been revealed online in official video, likely to be christened as Styx

Remember the Hyundai Carlino concept showcased at 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. It was one of the crowd pullers at the event. It seems Hyundai is ready to roll out its production version. Internally codenamed as Hyundai QXi, the sub-4 metre compact SUV has been revealed online in an official video. Expect it to be christened as Hyundai Styx upon launch.

Despite heavy camouflage, the Hyundai QXi SUV reveals its large and bold looking front grille, headlight placements, LED daytime running lights and sunroof. The front grille and headlamp placements appear to be similar to the Hyundai Kona. Hyundai claims, this new SUV is powerful and sophisticated and it will come with a package of performance, drivability and comfort.

Hyundai QXi

The South Korean auto major has been advocating for connected car technology and this SUV too will come with the latest connected car tech onboard. Its dual-tone alloy wheels, pull-type door handles are also revealed in the video. So far, it could come as a baby Creta. Upon launch, this SUV will challenge the rivals like Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza.

Inside the cabin, the Hyundai QXi will arrive with a host of upmarket features. There will be a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Seats and upholstery materials will surely come of impressive quality. The SUV is expected to offer ample space and comfort to the occupants. On the safety front, this SUV could arrive with class-leading features.

Hyundai Carlino Styx

The Hyundai QXi will have three different engine options. There will be 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, a 1.4-litre petrol motor and a 1.4-litre diesel unit as well. A 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox will be there for transmission duty. The upcoming Hyundai Styx is going to be the second SUV from the brand to receive a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
