BMW X7 price could be around Rs 1.6 crore (ex-showroom), India to initially get the top-spec trim X7 M50d

It has been a speculation that BMW will launch its new flagship SUV X7 in India. Now, the Bavarian luxury car brand has confirmed the launch date. The BMW X7 India launch to take place on January 31, 2019. India will initially get the top-spec trim of the flagship SUV, the X7 M50d. Expect the BMW X7 price to be around Rs 1.6 crore (ex-showroom).

In September 2019, BMW will bring the X7 XDrive40i and X7 XDrive30d in the Indian market. The automaker plans to localize the production of X7 SUV in order to keep the pricing lower. Positioned above the BMW X5, the new X7 was unveiled at 2018 Los Angeles Motor Show in November.

BMW X7

The BMW X7 is styled following the brand’s latest design language. It is available in six and seven-seater options. The X7 m50d will come with a seven-seat layout. The interior is meant to offer uber luxurious experience to the occupants. It gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. There are quad-zone automatic climate control, triple-piece glass sunroof, park assist function with reverse camera. The reclining function for all the three-row occupants adds more comfort. The cabin also gets soft-door technology.

The X7 M50d gets power from a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder quad-turbocharged sporty diesel engine. This engine is good to churn out 394 bhp of peak power and massive 760 Nm of maximum torque. The XDrive40i and XDrive30d get energy from a 3.0-litre straight-six turbo petrol engine and a 3.0-litre straight-six turbo-diesel motor. These two engines kick out 335 bhp and 261 bhp respectively. All the three trims of the upcoming X7 come equipped with 8-speed automatic gearbox and AWD as standard.

BMW X7

The upcoming luxury SUV will get an off-roading package. This package will include four-surface driving modes. In Europe, BMW sells the X7 SUV in two different seating layout options. However, the India-spec model is likely to receive only seven-seater versions of all three trims of the SUV. But, there is no such confirmation yet from the brand. It is just a speculation from our side.

The BMW X7 in India will compete with rivals like Mercedes-Benz GLS and Land Rover Discovery. Demands for luxury SUVs have been increasing in India in recent times. The German car maker hopes to grab the attention of the buyers with its new model.
