New Nissan Sunny appears more stylish and contemporary thanks to new features and Kicks like cabin

Nissan Sunny has been one of the most spacious midsize sedans in India. The sedan is ready to comeback in the country market in a new avatar. Yes, the Japanese carmaker has unveiled the new generation Nissan Sunny at the 2019 New York Motor Show. Also, christened as the Versa, the sedan boasts a front fascia that is identical to the European market-spec Micra.

The new Sunny appears sharper and more stylish compared to the outgoing model. The sharp headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, V shaped chrome trim at the front grille are there. Rectangular fog lamps, stylish alloy wheels, blackened glass area, floating roofline, crispy sharp taillights add zing to the sedan.

Moving inside the cabin, 2019 Nissan Sunny appears to be closely similar to the Nissan Kicks SUV. Yes, the flat-bottom sports steering wheel, instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system – everywhere the similarities are very much visible. Speaking about other elements, there will be high-quality seat and upholstery materials besides a very spacious and comfortable cabin. Also, there will be a host of safety features for sure.

A 1.6-litre petrol engine works under the hood of this sedan. Interestingly, this engine is also available with the international market-spec Kicks SUV. Nissan Sunny sits in a segment that is highly competitive and full of strong rivals. These include the models like Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Toyota Yaris as well. A competitive price range is necessary for this new sedan to be successful. In that case, we can assume the sedan will be priced between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
