Mahindra Marazzo launched in India after lot of waiting and it throws challenge to Toyota Innova Crysta, Tata Hexa.

Mahindra Marazzo has been the talking point of town for quite some time and the MPV has been launched here finally at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Available in four trims – M2, M4 (Rs 10.95 lakh), M6 (Rs 12.40 lakh), M8; the car’s top trim is priced at Rs 13.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The Mahindra Marazzo launched in India targeting models like Toyota Innova Crysta and Tata Hexa. This project started four years back with an aim to roll out a premium seven-seater MPV.

As we have wrote earlier, the car is world’s first automobile to use the combination of a body on frame chassis with a front wheel drive system along with a transversely mounted engine. Inspired by shark’s design, the styling of the car has been executed with inputs from famous Italian design house Pininfarina. Available in six different colours, the MPV is also Mahindra’s biggest car ever, eventually the most spacious till date.

Mahindra designed the car to make it as comfortable and spacious as possible, without hurting the balance, lightweight, driveability and performance. The brand emphasized on premiumness of the cabin with the styling and features. It gets a patented industry-first surround cooling technology, inspired by aircraft styled diffused cooling for the second and third row seats. There is a 4.2-inch TFT MID at instrument cluster and a 7.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, while the Apple CarPlay is expected to be introduced later. Availability of captain seats with armrests at the second row increases the appeal further.

The MPV comes powered by a brand new engine. The all-new 1.5-litre diesel engine coupled with a 6-speed gearbox, churns out 120 bhp of peak power at 3,500 rpm and 300 Nm of peak torque. The engine is designed to ensure lower NVH, reduced friction and lower weight as well. Later, a petrol version and an automatic gearbox will be there for the Marazzo. The MPV gets disc brakes on all four wheels. Mahindra claims, the car complies with advanced safety norms in terms of build quality and it gets dual front airbags, rear parking camera and sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, emergency call service etc.
