Maruti Suzuki Future-S SUV launching in 2019

Maruti Suzuki Future-S Concept

Maruti Suzuki Future-S concept based micro SUV could be a game-changer and it is likely to launch during festive season next year.

Maruti Suzuki Future-S concept was showcased at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo and it garnered pretty much attention at the event. This micro SUV could launch here during festive season in 2019. The SUV has potential to become a game-changer upon arrival. Expect it to come with a starting price of Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom). As the brand indicates, it could co-exist with the hatchbacks like Celerio, WagonR and Swift.

As we have seen the Maruti Suzuki Future-S concept, the production-spec micro SUV is expected to come with a close proximity to the concept. It will arrive with a length measuring less than 4-metre. In that case, we can assume, the SUV will have similar length and wheelbase to the Ignis. In terms of styling, the Maruti Suzuki Future-S is expected to come with a strong and appealing appearance.

Not only exterior, inside the cabin as well, this SUV will feature a premium feel thanks to a wide range of features that we have seen inside the cabin of several other models from the brand in recent times. Expect it to offer generous space and comfort to the occupants. Also, the Maruti Suzuki Future-S SUV will come with the safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD as standard, following the upcoming emission norms that is set to kick in from next year.

Like the new Swift, Ignis, the Maruti Suzuki Future-S too will be based on the Suzuki Heartect platform and it will get a 1.2-litre petrol engine. Initially, it won’t get a diesel engine and the SUV will boast both manual gearbox and AMT for transmission duty. We might see some electrification for this model as well, just like the SHVS technology used in Ciaz. So far, this is going to be a very interesting product from the biggest car brand of India.
