Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has scored 4-star rating in Global NCAP crash test.

No more shelling on Maruti Suzuki cars alleging them unsafe. The stellar from the brand’s portfolio, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has received a 4-star rating for adult occupant protection in Global NCAP crash test. This makes the compact SUV as one of the safest cars in India. In its own segment, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is matched by Tata Nexon only.

As part of the ‘Safer Cars for India’ campaign, Global NCAP has tested more than 25 models and variants that are on sale in the country. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza was one of them and as the result tells, it performed well. The car gets dual front airbags offering frontal crash protection to the driver and front passenger. While protection for driver’s chest area is found to be marginal, the head and neck region of both the driver and front passenger received good amount of protection.

On the child safety front, the compact SUV gets 2-star rating. Speaking about its build quality, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza appeared pretty stable during crash tests. No wonder, this feather in its crown will help the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza to boost sales in coming days. The other cars that also received 4-star rating by Global NCAP include Tata Nexon, Volkswagen Polo, Tata Zest and Toyota Etios.

Thanks to the new safety norms that will be implemented in the country from next year, all the cars will come with dual front airbags, ABS and EBD as standard, while the amount of safety features will increase in 2022 with the addition of Autonomous Emergency Braking and Electronic Stability Control.
