Tata Tiago JTP & Tigor JTP bring more joy before Diwali

Tata Tiago JTP & Tigor JTP come with sporty cosmetic updates, projector headlamps, bigger alloy wheels and a high performance engine.

Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP has been launched in India after lot of conversation. Priced at Rs 6.39 lakh and Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively, the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP mark the debut performance focused versions of their standard siblings. Both these two models share similar sporty cosmetic updates, bigger 15-inch alloy wheels, an updated high performance engine etc.

While we were skeptical how these two models are going to look, Tata and Jayem Automotive have done a nice job and honestly, both the models appear mind-blowing. The front grille has received a new styling with jet black look, while the front bumper gets larger air intake, black fog lamp enclosures. Projector headlamps add more zing to the car, while 15-inch new alloy wheels reminds us of Tata Hexa. The rear of Tata Tiago JTP gets a faux diffuser that gives it a very appealing look. Both the hatchback and sedan come with dual chrome garnished exhausts.

Inside the cabin, Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP come retaining the basic silhouette of their standard versions intact. However, addition of new colour theme, contrast stitching, leather wrapped steering wheel, aluminium pedals, updated seat covers and upholstery add more appeal to them. Special badging on bucket seats give the feel of exclusivity alongside offering comfort. Both the cars come with dual airbags, ABS and cornering stability control as standard safety features.

Speaking about the power source, Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP share the same 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged petrol engine that works under the hood of standard model. However, this petrol engine has been tweaked to produce more power and torque output compared to these car’s respective regular versions. The engine puts out 112 bhp of peak power and 150 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty is done by a 5-speed manual gearbox and Tata Motors claims, the Tiago JTP can accelerate 0-100 kmph in just 9.95 seconds, while the Tigor JTP reaches same in 10.38 seconds. Both the cars come with multi-drive modes – Sport and City.
