Tata Tiago retailed 9,277 units in August 2018 recording its best ever performance.

Tata Tiago hatchback has registered its best ever sales performance in August 2018 with 9,277 units. Interestingly, the top-spec XZ trim is the highest selling variant of the young hatchback. Thanks to the arrival of the Tata Tiago NRG, the urban crossover based on the Tiago hatchback, Tata Motors is expecting too an even bigger sales boost during the upcoming festive season.

Interestingly, the petrol variant of Tata Tiago contributed 80% of its total sales in August 2018. Clearly, the Indian customers have moved on from their pro-diesel mentality and showing more and more interest towards the petrol powered cars. Tiago is based on the same platform as its compact sedan sibling Tigor and engine options for car include a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol unit and a 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel motor. Pricing for the hatchback ranges between Rs 3.35 lakh and Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Availability of AMT in the Tiago petrol has helped in boosting its appeal further.

Christened as Tiago JTP, this performance focused version of Tata Tiago has been developed jointly by the automaker and Jayem Automotives.
