Tata Harrier Spied

Tata Harrier booking has commenced across India ahead of the SUV’s launch in early 2019.

Tata Harrier has been the biggest buzz-maker in Indian market for the last couple of days and suddenly, the upcoming SUV is stealing the show in internet. The upcoming Tata SUV has been spied in flesh for the first time and seriously, it looks very much in line with the concept form we saw at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. Interestingly, the image has been leaked the very same day when the brand opened booking for this model ahead of its early 2019 launch.

Internally codenamed as H5X, the same as the concept version, the Tata Harrier is expected to be a game-changer for the brand. As we have seen for last couple of years, Tata has been trying to portray itself as a premium carmaker, the Harrier too follows that strategy in line with the Nexon, Hexa. This SUV is based on the Omega platform, which is derived from the Land Rover Discovery underpinning. The Impact 2.0 design language that is wrapped around the upcoming SUV is also a product of the co-operation between JLR and Tata engineers.

Now, speaking directly about the leaked image of the Tata Harrier, it looks very muscular and appealing. The flared fenders and wheel-arches, nicely flowing roofline, integrated roof spoiler, sleek and sharp LED taillights are visible in the image. We hope to explore more images in coming days. The SUV will have a large touchscreen infotainment system, Harman audio system, premium seats and upholstery etc.

The engine of the Tata Harrier too will be a talking point. It is a 2.0-litre all-new Kryotec diesel engine that is capable of churning out impressive power and torque output. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed automatic unit as well. It will be priced between Rs 16-21 lakh (on-road) and the SUV will be competing against Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta.
