Hyundai Kona has won 2018 IDEA Design Award alongside the Santa Fe and NEXO.
Hyundai Kona has won the 2018 IDEA Design Award alongside other siblings like Santa Fe and NEXO. Interestingly, the Hyundai NEXO fuel cell SUV could also come to India in next decade. All these three Hyundai SUV’s come with eye-catching new design that blends innovation, technology and style in one single package.
The International Design Excellence Awards or IDEA is considered as one of the world’s three grand international design prizes. There are total of 20 categories for the award including the automotive and transportation, consumer technology, service etc. Interestingly, this is not the first time a Hyundai car has won this prestigious award, as the Elantra won a bronze award in 2016. This time, Hyundai Kona, Santa Fe and NEXO have won the solver awards.
The Hyundai Kona compact SUV is one of the most awaited products in the Indian market. Showcased at 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, the car will come with an electric variant alongside conventional fuel powered versions. The SUV gets an unique design that catches attention at the very first glimpse. The NEXO too could come here, however chances are less for this model, as the SUV is powered by fuel cell technology.
Speaking about the other model, the new Santa Fe could be here as well. Upon launch, this is going to be flagship product of this South Korean brand. Meanwhile, Hyundai’s luxury car brand Genesis too has been recognized for its design excellence for second consecutive years at the event. The mid-size luxury sedan Genesis G70 was a finalist in the award ceremony.
