Mahindra XUV700 India launch will mark the brand’s challenge against Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.

Mahindra XUV700 India launch has been confirmed for October 9, 2018. Internally codenamed as Y400, the full grown SUV will come throwing challenge to the rivals like Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. This SUV is based on the second generation SsangYong Rexton and it was displayed at 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, albeit not as XUV700. Upon launch, this is going to be the flagship car from the homegrown brand. Expect it to be priced at Rs 24 lakh (ex-showroom), which will certainly give tough competition to the rivals.

Apart from Mahindra Marazzo, the XUV700 has been one of the most awaited models from the automaker. Speaking about the SUV’s appearance it gets an aggressive looking vertically slated chrome garnished grille in line with contemporary Mahindra models. The car sports features like projector headlamps, integrated LED daytime running lights, large alloy wheels, LED taillights etc.

Inside the cabin, there will be a large 9.2-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as it was displayed at Auto Expo 2018. There is a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster adding premiumness to the cabin. Apart from that, cooled seats, Nappa leather upholstery, 360-degree camera, smart tailgate are the other features available in this model. In order to make the ride experience comfortable, the SUV gets a rigid suspension suitable for Indian roads. Expect this SUV to be equipped with advanced hi-end safety features.

Speaking about its power source, the Mahindra XUV700 will come with a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. Coupled with the 7-speed gearbox, power will be delivered to all the four wheels. However, AWD will be available in top trims only. The engine is capable of churning out around 184 bhp of peak power and 420 Nm of peak torque.
